Biosketch – Master Richard “Rick” Przybylski, FDD, PGK, PFN [10966; 2367] and Lady Beth
District Master SK Rick Przybylski was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1967 and has been a lifelong Maryland resident. Rick attended Shrine of the Little Flower Catholic School and then graduated from Archbishop Curley High School in Baltimore. After receiving an A.A. degree in Criminal Justice in 1988, Rick became an Auxiliary Police Officer (volunteer) with the Baltimore County Police Department and was then hired in 1990 as a full-time police officer. Rick graduated second academically and received the top shooter award in his police academy class. During his police career he received two Unit Citations with the police department, a Critical Incident Award and a Commander’s Award for service with the department’s honor guard, was a firearms instructor and member of the Special Response Team, before retiring in 2021 with over 30 years of service.
Rick joined the Knights in 2010 and quickly became Warden of his Council and then became Grand Knight in 2014. Rick also worked through the chair positions in his Assembly, becoming Faithful Navigator in 2018 and is currently Treasurer and Purser for both Council and Assembly and Membership Director for his Council. As Membership Director, Rick has assisted his Council in obtaining Star Council for the past two fraternal years along with recruiting men into the Knights as well as the 4th Degree.
Rick was made Color Corps commander from 2017 to 2023 and was then appointed as District Marshal by Master Jim Duryee. Rick was also appointed District Warden in 2020 and then District Deputy for District #4 in 2022-2024, receiving Star District for the 2022-2023 fraternal year and was asked and served as Co-Chairmen for the Maryland State Council Recognition Program for the 2024-2026 fraternal years. Rick was very active in his Council’s 1st Degree team and the District’s 2nd Degree team and is currently Captain of his Council’s Exemplification team. Rick received both Color Corpsman of the year for the 2019-2020 fraternal year and Color Corps Commander of the Year for the 2021-2022 fraternal year both for the Maryland District as well as Sir Knight of the Year for his Assembly in 2021. Rick has been very active in the 4th Degree, especially the Color Corps, since becoming a Sir Knight.
Rick has been active in not only local Council and Assembly events, but he has also been very active in District wide events along with assisting with 4th Degree Exemplification in other Districts in the Province. Rick has also assisted with prior Supreme Conventions. As District Marshal, Rick oversaw the Color Corps in the District and directed them at many events including numerous State Council events including the Annual Maryland State Conventions, State Officer Installations and Memorial masses. Rick also assisted the District Master in prior Assembly Officer Installations and Renewal of Obligations/Commitments throughout the Maryland District as well as most of the Maryland 4th Degree Exemplifications. Rick also attends and assists with Provincial events including the Annual Columbus Day ceremony in Washington D.C. and events for the Archdiocese of Military Services at the Cathedral, also in D.C. Rick considers himself a proud Catholic American citizen and is very proud and honored to be serving in the Knights of Columbus.
